The pre-monsoon drain connectivity and drain placing works initiated by Cochin Smart Mission Limited have reached its final stage.

CSML at present is developing more than 100 roads in the city to the tune of Rs 197.34 crore. This includes 10 smart roads in Ernakulam and West Kochi with a total length of 51.52 kilometers.

To address the waterlogging issue a new cross culvert through Subhash Bose park opposite to Taluk office entrance and Athira silks are placed which will help to improve the drain connectivity & reduce the water logging in this area during monsoon. Durbar Hall Ground Road, Abraham Madamaakal Road, works at Menaka Junction, Shanmugham Road are also progressing.

We have started the pre-monsoon works as early as in March. CSML is expecting to complete the works before the start of monsoon. Our aim is to clear all the drains which are clogged with sludge that lead to waterlogging issues. CSML is doing interventions to reduce the problem in the future also.

The work envisaged under“Smart Roads and other roads” is expected to be completed by July 2020.
